Always think it’s best to get in person with an instrument before purchasing so collection is preferred. High quality banjo, mahogany resonator & rim. Brass tone ring, 16 tension hooks. Mahogany neck, Ovangkol fingerboard with 15 frets. Maple bridge with ebony top, plastic top nut. Planetary pegs, 8 Remo head, ABS binding, gloss finish. Top nut width: 35mm. Width at 12th fret: 43mm. IMPORTANT: Despite never playing it, between investigating what it was worth and taking the photos I’ve managed to lose 1 of the 4 screws that attach the resonator (underside of the body) to the top part. A new full-size Chinese violin, copy of decorated Hellier Stradivarius, Dan Sun 2011, Beijing. Golden varnish; length of back 358mm. With new “Cobra” bow, and new oblong case. Stradivarius is believed to have built about 1,100 instruments, with only about a dozen of them embellished with intricate patterns and inlaid wood. Of the decorated instruments that still exist, the Hellier is the best preserved, and has been copied here by this Chinese maker.
